# Cafecito con HACE: Leisl Downey

Published by [Christina Ezeagwuna](https://info.haceonline.org/author/christina-ezeagwuna) on Nov 4, 2021, 11:58:48 AM

This week on [Cafecito con HACE](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP9tD5md8y6P13LdkiYT19g), we sat with Leisl Downey, Vice President for the Institutional Advancement at<https://www.linkedin.com/company/northeastern-illinois-university/>Northeastern Illinois University and Executive Director at NEIU Foundation.

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/N30L02Q9Evw" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: none;"></iframe>

Leisl is proud to represent a university (NEIU) that is the first-ever Hispanic-serving institution for Illinois and is the most diverse university in the Midwest region. She has directly impacted the lives of first-generation Hispanic/Latinx college students, harnessing them with the resources and support necessary to reach their goals and to best position themselves for the workforce. She has been a great partner for our [Dr. Ervin Vinny Caraballo Scholarship](https://info.haceonline.org/scholarships?hsLang=en) in the past few years.

For our 40th anniversary, HACE is excited to announce we will be awarding 40 students with the scholarship. [Learn more about how you can contribute to that BIG goal here.](https://www.haceonline.org/donate-to-hace/)
